Do not give any examples of misspelled domain names.

[edit]

Do not give any examples of misspelled domain names. "examlpe.com" currently leads to a site that tries to load malware on your computer.[1] Any example you give is likely to be harmful if anybody actually looks at the example page.

One obvious solution would be for the W?F to register a few obvious typos of wikipedia.org and redirect them to the main site. We could then use them as examples, plus it would benefit anyone who makes those particular typos. --Guy Macon (talk) 15:26, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be better to change the extension on the example domain names to .tld (eg: example.tld) as this is not a resolving top level domain? Jmccormac (talk) 19:49, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That would work. Good thinking! I guess that's why they pay you the big bucks.[Citation Needed] :) --Guy Macon (talk) 20:57, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
