Just a recipe. Delete and move to the recipe thingy. -- Friedo 04:01, 5 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. I honestly don't know what the "recipe thingy" is, but if this doesn't belong, neither does any other item on the List of cocktails. -- Jao 08:36, 5 Apr 2004 (UTC)
    • I had a vague impression that we had a sister project for recipes somewhere, but I may be wrong. I really don't think recipes belong in an encyclopedia, though, especially since there's near-infinite variety for each one. (For a fun time, try engaging my parents in an NPOV debate about the proper way to make meatloaf.) -- Friedo 11:31, 5 Apr 2004 (UTC)
      • Here, meatloaf would have just one or perhaps two example recipes and would refer to the cookbook for any further variations. That gives us good coverage of a very well known food here, without covering every possible variation. No example recipe at meatloaf yet, though. Jamesday 19:24, 6 Apr 2004 (UTC)
        • See, that's great. I have no problem with an article describing meatloaf generally, but recipes are matters of taste and tradition, and aren't encyclopedic, IMHO. -- Friedo 03:57, 7 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. This is probably going to be as hotly debated as food recipes so the answer has to be keep, at least for now. I guess consistency says that there should be either a section in the wiki cookbook or a special cocktail book. Rjstott 09:18, 5 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. I think "the recipe thingie" is Wikibooks? I believe I've seen discussion of moving other recipes there. --zandperl 12:32, 5 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. The recipe thingy is this : http://wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook, the other cocktails recipes can go there too. Sander123 13:40, 5 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Cookbooks are for drink recipes too. Send it to wikibooks. -- Cyrius|&#9998 14:06, Apr 5, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, recipes are encyclopedic. - SimonP 18:12, Apr 5, 2004 (UTC)
  • I can't see this becoming an encyclopedia entry. Does this drink have historical or cultural significance? Maximus Rex 19:20, 5 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. I can't speak to their Significance in the Great Scheme of Things, but we already have a quite extensive List of cocktails here, linking to dozens of drink recipes. The feeling seems to be that cocktail recipes can be canonical in ways that other recipes aren't. This is little different from most entries. Smerdis of Tlön 03:18, 6 Apr 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Good coverage of cocktails here is appropriate, though there's merit in having a book covering them more comprehensively as well, if someone wants to start one. Jamesday 19:24, 6 Apr 2004 (UTC)
