Use in the semiconductor industry

Dye penetrant inspection is sometimes used as a failure analysis technique in the semiconductor industry, to identify the location of leakage current paths caused by the retention of ingressed moisture after autoclave testing of integrated circuits. RE: "Experience showed that temperature and soak time were important. This started the practice of written instructions to provide standard, uniform results. This section seems to state that Dye penetrant inspection techniques were the very reason for clearly written instruction in all things. I don't think so, brah. If so, I'm going to need some sort of reference.98.164.113.215 (talk) 08:25, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
