Why did Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. get cut and pasted here? If the article should be called "Ted Roosevelt" the proper way to do it is to move it, as this preserves the history and discussion. I think he's more properly known as Theodore Roosevelt, Jr and will move it back unless someone has a good reason not to do so. See [1]. Ydorb 19:29, Oct 21, 2004 (UTC)

Someone else beat me to it. Ydorb 19:31, Oct 21, 2004 (UTC)

"In 1924, he was the Democratic nominee for the office of governor of New York. His opponent, Alfred E. Smith, defeated him by 105,000 votes. Many considered this a successful campaign by Roosevelt, because in the simultaneous race for President, the Republican Calvin Coolidge won New York by over 850,000 votes."

Roosevelt, like his father was a Republican and the Repulican nominee. Al Smith was the Democrat, in fact, he was the Democratic nominee for president in 1928. It should be noted that he ran for governor but that whole paragraph doesn't make any sense.
