I'm a little concerned about Bobby Milligan, who may be making specious additions to the database. User created article Romulus_Junius_Brutus_Caepio_de_Montford, which has come up for VfD, and Luke Bright, which has been nominated for nonsense deletion. I'm concerned that user may also be represented by IP address 195.172.150.2, which has also been making connections and creating articles (such as Tiberius_Junius_Brutus), and seems to have vandalised Junius_Brutus_Booth in [this] edit. Please be aware, and check carefully any additions. Best regards, EvilPhoenix

Please check this article carefully if you are a scholar of Roman history. If it appears to be a hoax, please nominate the article for deletion. Thanks, ~~

This particular article, in its main lines -- not at all sure about some of the names given, which do look hoaxlike — is not a hoax; the story is in Livy ii.5 and referred to elsewhere in Antiquity, as I mentioned on the Vfd page. Bobby Milligan's edits, however, are a mix of accurate information, lies, and outright silliness, and he does bear watching. Bill 17:00, 10 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This is really odd

[edit]

Lucius Junius Brutus was elected first consul with Lucius Tarquinius Collatinus in 510BC but, as I think the story goes, Rome could not stand the idea of any relative of Tarquin being involved in their leadership, so Collatinus made a fast getaway to Lavinium, and LJB was killed in battle having killed his two sons — the explanation being that he did not want to risk them being held as hostages or murdered after his death. If I am right, this page is therefore a complete invention. The burden of proof should be on the author to refer to reliable souces. In default, it should be deleted.

Fixed

[edit]

It's ok. I have fixed it now. It was full of errors but its now better. If anyone can fill it up with references to Plutarch, Dionysius, or other sources that would be great.--Urg writer (talk) 05:36, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
