Could someone add, or show me to add, the image of the UH-Hilo seal? It's marked by a large V.

Added History and Corrected Dates

[edit]

I have added a section on the unique history of UH Hilo and corrected inaccurate dates about its founding.

[edit]

I've added the UH Hilo logo to the already inserted seal of the University of Hawaii System.

Comments about Dr. Tseng moved from article page

[edit]

Most people think she is overpaid and a poor public speaker.

`Imiloa

[edit]

I've added a starter entry for Imiloa, the astronomy center thingy. :) Hopefully some UHH folks will be able to add more to it than I know, and I guess it'll eventually need to be linked from the UHH entry (to which it links).

UHH and HCC campus locations?

[edit]

I'm a little confused by the assertion on the page that "Until the early 1990's UH Hilo and Hawaii Community College operated almost as a single unit with students able to cross register at either campus. The campuses are located across the street from each other."

Although UHH and HCC are on opposite sides of Kawili Street, they're also about three blocks apart, and I can't envision anything near either of them that could have previously served as a campus for the other. Perhaps "down the street from each other" would be more accurate than "across the street from each other"?

Further muddling things, though... aren't some HCC classes (thinking auto shop) held on the UHH campus? And parking's all under UHH control too, yes?

Updated Logo and Domain Name

[edit]

As of late August 2010, UH Hilo has adopted a UH System-provided logo and domain name. I've updated the article to include the new logo and domain name.

The old domain (www.uhh.hawaii.edu) is being phased out in favor of the new one (hilo.hawaii.edu).

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Some editors who have contributed here are connected to the university, and thus have a conflict of interest at this and related articles. Conflict-of-interest editors are strongly discouraged from editing the article directly, but are always welcome to propose changes on the talk page (i.e., here). You can attract the attention of other editors by putting {{request edit}} (exactly so, with the curly parentheses) at the beginning of your request, or by clicking where it says "click here" on the lowest yellow notice above. Requests that are not supported by independent reliable sources are unlikely to be accepted.

Please also note that our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation." An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:24, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
