The name Helene has three syllables, [[--122.57.249.43 (talk) 01:32, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Link title]]but the placement of the accent is disputed. JPL sites generally have [he-LEE-nee], whereas traditional mythology has [HELL-eh-nee], parallel to Helenus, for example in the Dictionary of Classical Mythology (JE Zimmerman, Harper & Row, 1964).[reply]

Since the penult is light in the Greek (open syllable, short vowel), traditional literary English (Latinate) stress rules would place the stress on the antepenult. --kwami 02:36, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)
The Cassini-Huygens web page has [hell EEN], but they still don't have all the names of the moons spelled right! —kwami 06:46, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)
