GA Review

[edit]
This review is transcluded from Talk:Office of Strategic Influence (album)/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

I am beginning my review of this article. Reviewer: Torchiest (talk | contribs) 14:48, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GA review – see WP:WIAGA for criteria

  1. Is it reasonably well written?
    A. Prose quality:
One small problem with the first sentence of the music section. Not sure what it supposed to say, looks like it's missing a word or two.
    B. MoS compliance:
You've got a scattering of quotes that use quotation marks inside of them, like when song titles are referred to in quotations. You have to alternate between double and single quotes for each layer, see WP:MOSQUOTE for details.
  2. Is it factually accurate and verifiable?
    A. References to sources:
    B. Citation of reliable sources where necessary:
WP policy, as I understand it, is that every single instance of a quote must have a cite. You've got three quotes in the background section missing cites. You've got six missing cites in the recording section. You've got four in the music section, one in the release and promotion section. You've got ten missing cites in the reception section.
    C. No original research:
  3. Is it broad in its coverage?
    A. Major aspects:
    B. Focused:
  4. Is it neutral?
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. Is it stable?
    No edit wars, etc:
  6. Does it contain images to illustrate the topic?
    A. Images are copyright tagged, and non-free images have fair use rationales:
    B. Images are provided where possible and appropriate, with suitable captions:
  7. Overall:
    Pass or Fail:
Overall, this is a really great article. You only have a few minor problems with getting the cites fixed, which I'm sure you've got covered in your sources. Just fix them up, and this is a definite pass.

Many thanks for taking the time to review the article! :)

However, I think some of the quotations you've counted as unsourced are in fact sourced in the correct manner. At my last GA the reviewer had the same issue with me not being thorough enough with the sourcing of quotations. However, they said that an extra citation wasn't required if there was a non-quote connecting two parts of the same quote (e.g. "and I was totally apolitical before this, politically naïve and I still am," Moore stated. "I was like, 'Whoa, what the fuck is going on in the world?'"[5] would be fine as the non-quoting part merely breaks up one continuous quote).

This may be an error on their part; if so I'll go in and make the relevant corrections. If not, I believe I've made all the corrections you've suggested. Again, thanks! Una LagunaTalk 21:27, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was a little iffy on that one you mentioned, and I think you're right that it's probably fine as it. The rest looks good. I'm going to pass this, but you still need to fix that one sentence I mentioned in 1A, as I'm not sure precisely what it's supposed to be saying. Otherwise, great work, and congrats. Whoops - didn't see that one. Hopefully I've made that sentence clearer now. Thanks again for taking the time to review the article! Time to finish off Free (OSI album)... Una LagunaTalk 09:53, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
