General

[edit]

The official name of the municipality is Dysart et al, according to its own home page [1], and Haliburton County's [2]. Radagast 01:15, Oct 17, 2004 (UTC)

I noticed that however MapArt and Statistics Canada both have different names. I think et al is good, but redirects needed of course when the page is made. Earl Andrew 04:48, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Hi there. I've made a couple of edits to this page re: the Arts and Culture, and Education sectors of the County (with which I am involved on an employee and volunteer basis). If you have any experience with the Ecotourism areas, Business, or even have more to add about Arts and Culture, please do! I would like to see this article expand :) Erin 09:46, 25 Apr 2008 (EST)

Economy

[edit]

I would like to see the Haliburton County as the poorest jurisdiction in Ontario expanded upon. If I recall, the article by Jen Watt went into some detail about the numbers possibly being somewhat distorted by the high seniors population. Eekernohan (talk) 20:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with the statement that Haliburton County has no resource, industrial, or agricultural basis for its economy. Forestry is still a major industry in the area. I haven't changed any information, but I'll research this further and contribute to the section. Eekernohan (talk) 20:13, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
