Pedro González Telmo

[edit]

Isn't there a confusion with Pedro González Telmo, also a patron of mariners?

As far as I can see yes. And also there are sources saying that St. Elmo's fire is related to both. 74.8.123.50 (talk) 21:05, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Born

[edit]

There is no citation for the birth year of 278. Britannica Online only lists a "died 303?, Formia, Italy", so absent any new discovery, this bit of information is probably unavailable. --Nasarius 03:56, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is Formiae locative of Formia?

[edit]

Then, "Erasmus of Formia" in English or "Erasmus Formiae" in Latin? --Bay Flam 02:22, 3 March 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bay Flam (talkcontribs)

No, it’s nominative plural. If we include the ‘of’, in Latin he’d be Erasmus Formiārum. — Chameleon 23:41, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A google search for "Erasmus of Antioch" doesn't return any especially illuminating information about this fellow, but it does, unless I'm misreading something, seem to indicate that, despite the fact that parts of it appear to be cited to elsewhere, large parts of this article, if not the entire thing, were lifted from here. I don't know whether the "Erasmus of Antioch" fellow warrants an article, nor to what extent the content of yonder site is copyrighted, but someone more in the know should definitely look into the latter, and if sufficient interest exists, into the former as well. 71.82.157.201 (talk) 03:12, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I can't coax the Wikimedia Commons jpg of the Dieric Bouts Martyrdom to land in the line of Gallery images. Any suggestions, or is anyone able to do it? Thanks! Johannes der Taucher (talk) 14:39, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
