No basis at all

[edit]

This album has many elements from Megadeth's '80s era. It's not hard rock. And without a verifiable citation, it should be taken down. Megadeth is a thrash metal and heavy metal band. If you people want "hard rock", go listen to Metallica's '90s stuff and see if it compares to anything except "Risk." —Preceding unsigned comment added by MetalKommandant (talkcontribs) 11:42, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will review the article. Comments coming soon. Bruce Campbell (talk) 04:44, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Out of the two current Megadeth articles I'm reviewing I think this is the much stronger one. Fewer comments:

General

  • Move the songs section so its before release, maybe try combining the release and reception sections so its one, like "release and reception."  Done--L1A1 FAL (talk) 02:33, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Same comment as in the The System Has Failed review; content discussion of some of the songs is slightly sparse.
  • Background section is already a little sparse; maybe get rid of the album title subsection, just make it one section.( Done--L1A1 FAL (talk) 02:33, 16 October 2012 (UTC)) Another comment, but by no means critical; Mustaine talks about the history of the album alot in his book. If you have a copy of the book or a way to access the information, there's alot there that could flesh out the article.[reply]

Vic

[edit]

Two comments regarding Vic. First, the article here states "Additionally, mascot Vic Rattlehead appears on the cover of a Megadeth album for the first time since Rust in Peace (1990)." Check the Talk tab of Countdown https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Countdown_to_Extinction - not a real good source, but it presents reasonable doubt, your honor.

Second, the article here states "The album cover by Hugh Syme shows mascot Vic Rattlehead breaking out of Mustaine." Sorry, Dave has long red hair while they man on the cover has short dark hair, looking nothing at all like DM. I tried following the link to the reference, but it is broken. If someone has a good link then I'll gladly admit that I'm wrong on either or both of these points.

Cheers! FiggazWithAttitude (talk) 14:46, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[1] – I dunno.. The hair is likely intended to look bloodied up or wet, plus the image is dark overall. Facially, that looks like Mustaine to me. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 15:23, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
