I love this picture like mad, but there's no room for it on the page. It's on the Commons, and I hope that someone who knows about painting will expand it to the point where I can again include it. (I think it may be his most famous work.) Good starting points are [1] and [2]. grendel|khan 19:16, 2005 May 12 (UTC)

Why do you divide people? This statement is racist. He was a POLISH painter of Jewish race / faith. You don't describe Polish Tatar by saying "a Muslim painter, of Polish-speaking Masovian Tatars"...
