Hello, On the geography page, I named the towns that border Augusta. My plan was that we might want to use the map image on the infobox to put the map images on those towns. The City Data external link might help.X, the Nerd 02:33, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can we maybe get some more pictures that aren't from 1910? 208.58.7.121 (talk) 12:44, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:AugustaMEseal.gif

[edit]

Image:AugustaMEseal.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

last three paragraphs of 'history'

[edit]

that should really, really be removed. it's not pertinent to the history of augusta or maine, so why is it there? it's not even sourced! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.150.219.223 (talk) 23:37, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I've removed the material in question. –BMRR (talk) 00:05, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Land Area

[edit]

55 square miles is an awfully expansive municipal area given the small population of Augusta. I imagine that the populated part of the city must make up a very small percentage of the total area. Does anyone know the urbanized area population and area from the previous census? We should of course keep the entire municipal population and land area measurement, but a lot of pages also add the population and land area measurement of the actual built-up area in cases like Augusta where the municipal borders contain all or nearly all of the urbanized area of a large (area-wise) city. --Criticalthinker (talk) 09:47, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
