I started the work of combining the 2 articles on this man. It needs more work from someone. HELP! Vaoverland 20:55, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

I can help, some, Cyrus was my Grandma and Great-Aunt's first cousin. There was a time that he ran Otis Elevator. I have a plethora of letters Cyrus wrote to my Aunt Isabelle, and always on company letterhead. I will get dates for you. I also have photos that I can scan.

I think i might be able to help you out a little better than most. Infact I have noticed many errors in your artical. My name is Joshua Eaton and I a great grandson of Cyrus Eaton. My grandfather MacPerson Eaton which is his youngest son has many articals and what not. I will be showing him this artical so that he may reference it to its files. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eaton global (talkcontribs) 20:12, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Time-magazine-cover-cyrus-stephen-eaton.jpg

[edit]

Image:Time-magazine-cover-cyrus-stephen-eaton.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I have a close family connection with C. Eaton from his summer home and estate in Blandford, Nova Scotia. I am scanning many 35mm slides from the 50s, 60s, and early 70s that depict many locations in and around his summer place. I will post here when I have more to add. --MikeyMoose (talk) 22:29, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Trying to enhance the encyclopedic tone of the article

[edit]

I am making some copyedits to the article currently in an attempt to suppress the essay-like and hagiographic components and present the information in a more factual and encyclopedic (and thus less POV) manner. The article also suffers from a complete lack of reliable sources but this is for another day. Dr.K.praxislogos 16:21, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

rewrite of article on Cyrus Eaton

[edit]

Hello editors, I am in the process of completely rewriting the article on Cyrus S. Eaton, 95% of which I wrote in the first place, and am glad you are there to provide oversight on the project. What I intend to do is remove everything there as of Jan 19, or thereabouts, 2012, except the first paragraph, and replace it with a fully annotated article that includes the former information in summary form, and adds a good deal more to the record. I attempted to post a radical edit yesterday, and most of my work was blocked or rejected for the perfectly good reason that it lacked documentation, ie, footnotes. Lazy of me, but I was used to doing as I pleased with the article, whenever time allowed and the inclination hit me. Now, I want to keep you informed of my future plans so I have your cooperation and understanding when the time comes. If this meets with your approval, I post the complete, amended article, when it is ready, and just as a heads-up inform you of it in advance on this page so you know what's happening and can check to see I've kept my word. Then, I assume, you will approve the changes and let the article appear as I wish to see it amended.

For your information, I have been researching Cyrus Eaton for several years now, with a view to eventually writing his biography, and regard this wiki article as a sort of pilot project. I repent of much that I wrote about him on Wiki before. Let's just call it practice. I am onfident that the article I intend to replace it with is an accurate and fairly representative summary of his life, touching on the most important passages in it.

I would appreciate hearing from DR. K by return email, with any comments you may have, just so I know that we have an understanding and I am not wasting my time.

Thanks.

That's the last time I will volunteer my time to produce content for Wikipedia. Garry Eaton January 2013[reply]

Hi. No problem. Please rewrite the article and I will check it over for any issues. Please do not forget to add the sources. Take care. Δρ.Κ. λόγοςπράξις 20:29, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cyrus Eaton helped to ruin Samuel Insull

[edit]

I am doing some research on an organization that Samuel Insull was a part of. As an aside to that, I learned that Cyrus Eaton convinced Insull to buy additional shares in Commonwealth Edison that Eaton owned. Those shares were bought with borrowed money, and this help (among other things) to ruin Insull. But no mention here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tbbarnard (talkcontribs) 21:48, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

For there to be a mention here, it should I would suggest have a proper RS reference. --Epeefleche (talk) 22:37, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tower International

[edit]

What is the point of the Tower International section? It seems completely irrelevant to me. GA-RT-22 (talk) 15:07, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
